PROFILE

Dr Barveen Aisha Abu Baker is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist, Arrhythmia and Device Specialist based in Melbourne. She completed a two-year Electrophysiology and cardiac device fellowship at Northern Health, Victoria. 

 

Dr Abu Baker’s area of interest includes diagnosis and management of arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia. In addition to that she is an expert in implantation and follow up of cardiac implantable electronic devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and monitoring devices. 

 

Dr Abu Baker has been committed to conducting regular interactive teaching sessions with junior doctors, medical students and other health professionals on a regular basis.

REFERRALS & FEES

Dr Abu Baker does not routinely bulk bill, however she discounts for pensioners and healthcare cardholders. You do not need to have private health insurance for an appointment. 

​

You can only obtain the Medicare refund if you have been referred by another medical practitioner so please bring along your referral with you on the day.

Private Hospital Care
​

Dr Abu Baker participates in the 'No-GAP' cover with most of the private health insurance companies. This means that any ‘out of pocket’ doctor’s fees for your medical care in a private hospital will be kept to a minimum. Our office will provide further details at the time of your admission.
