Dr Shareen Jaijee is a Cardiologist based in Melbourne. Dr Jaijee sees patients with all types of heart conditions including valvular heart diseases, general cardiology, coronary artery disease, cardiovascular risk assessment, and heart failure.

PROFILE

Dr Shareen Jaijee is an experienced general cardiologist, with specialist training in heart failure and cardiac imaging. She trained at the Royal Prince Alfred in Sydney, and had further training and experience at Imperial College NHS Trust in London and the National Heart Centre in Singapore. In Australia, she is currently a visiting consultant cardiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. 

 

Dr Jaijee has a special interest in cardiac imaging, and has advanced specialist training in cardiac MRI. She also has an interest in CT coronary angiography (CTCA) and echocardiography. She completed her doctorate at the University of Sydney/Imperial College London, studying cardiac MRI and its assessment of the heart at rest and during exercise, particularly in those with heart failure due to pulmonary hypertension.

 

She is board certified with the Australian and International Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and has an interest in the application of exercise, nutrition, adequate sleep and positive psychology in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease. Dr Jaijee also has a Masters in Medical Leadership, with her thesis focusing on equality and diversity.

 

Dr Jaijee provide services in all aspects of cardiology, including heart failure, cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, preventive cardiology and general cardiology.

REFERRALS & FEES

Dr Jaijee does not routinely bulk bill, however she discounts for pensioners and healthcare cardholders. You do not need to have private health insurance for an appointment. 

You can only obtain the Medicare refund if you have been referred by another medical practitioner so please bring along your referral with you on the day.

Private Hospital Care

Dr Jaijee participates in the 'No-GAP' cover with most of the private health insurance companies. This means that any ‘out of pocket’ doctor’s fees for your medical care in a private hospital will be kept to a minimum. Our office will provide further details at the time of your admission.
